The Smart-Plant project, which aims to recover resources from water treatment waste, is one of the four projects chosen by the European commission (out of around 180 submitted, and the only one led by an Italian company) for a 900,000 euro grant through Horizon 2020.
The plan, developed by Alto Trevigiano Servizi in cooperation with the University of Verona and the Veneto regional government, has a total budget of around 10 million euros, including about 8 million euros of EU funding. Based on the concept of a circular economy, Smart-Plant involves 25 partners in 10 different countries, including 18 companies.
